This Monday (29), former president Jair Bolsonaro will undergo a new intervention to block the left phrenic nerve, responsible for controlling the diaphragm, to complete the treatment that aims to alleviate hiccups.
Bolsonaro will also continue with physiotherapy for rehabilitation, measures to prevent venous thrombosis and other clinical care. This will be the former president’s third procedure since his hospitalization on the 24th.
Last week, Bolsonaro underwent his first surgery, to treat an inguinal hernia. This weekend, he underwent the second intervention, to block the right phrenic nerve. Bolsonaro is being monitored daily to check whether the procedures to reduce hiccups have been successful.
The former president has been detained since November 22nd, at the headquarters of the Federal Police Superintendence in Brasília and after forensic examinations, he underwent surgical procedures at the DF Star hospital.
