At the end of December, the Central Bank published the average interest rate charged by institutions for operations with individuals and companies. The value rose 0.6 percentage points in November this year and closed at 46.7% per year, becoming the highest level ever recorded since April 2017.
In the published partial of 2025, the average interest rate of banks increased by six percentage points. In relation to operations with companies, it was 24.5% per year in November, a drop compared to 25.1% per year in October.
In operations with individuals, interest rates rose to 59.4% per year, the highest level since August 2017.
