Autosport Top 50 of 2025: #19 Sho Tsuboi

by Marcelo Moreira

Although perhaps not reaching the lofty standards set by his annus mirabilis of 2024, Sho Tsuboi gave another strong account of himself as he tried to defend both the Super GT and Super Formula crowns with TOM’S, succeeding in the former (with the help of co-driver Kenta Yamashita) and falling agonisingly short in the latter.

That said, had the cancelled race at Fuji – a Tsuboi stronghold – not been moved to Suzuka, it could have been a different story. He also showed well in his first two F1 TPC outings for Toyota-aligned Haas at Fuji and Silverstone, although his English remains a sticking point.
