ARX Robotics unveiled a remotely controlled military truck transforming the Zetros platform into a software-defined ground system capable of operating via teleoperation with optional autonomy.

The initiative uses certified “drive-by-wire” technology, which allows the driver to be removed from the cab and control transferred to operators in a safe location, as a direct response to the growing risks faced by logistics teams in modern combat scenarios.

The project was developed by integrating ARX Core with the operating system Mithrawhich allowed an established commercial vehicle to be quickly transformed into a fully connected platform. According to the company, the conversion took only a few weeks and did not require deep structural changes, highlighting the advantages of a software-based modernization compared to traditional vehicle redesign programs.

Made in collaboration with Daimler Truck AGthe demonstration shows that widely used platforms can be quickly adapted for military and security missions.

Focused on logistics and support in contested areas, the solution maintains human control with limited autonomy, seeking to balance operational efficiency, security and legal compliance, while reducing operators’ direct exposure to threats.
