Venezuelan forces train to use poisoned arrows

Venezuela’s Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, considered Chavismo’s number 2, said that Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship will use arrows with curare, a poisonous substance extracted from plants in South America, to defend itself in the event of an invasion by the United States.

“Our indigenous peoples know many trees and plants, and they even use the sap of the jabilo tree; they use it for this, but there is one that is especially good, and our indigenous peoples use it on the tips of their spears and arrows,” Cabello said at the weekly press conference of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), of which he is the first vice-president, on Monday (17).

“It’s curare. Well, you don’t feel anything at first, but you feel it later,” he said, according to state broadcaster VTV, referring to the substance’s effect on the human body.

“This is a message to the enemies of the country. That’s why our indigenous brothers are teaching us about their silent weapons”, said Chavismo’s number 2.

Cabello had already spoken about the training that Venezuelan indigenous people would be giving to Chavista forces on the use of poisonous arrows on the 5th, during the PSUV congress.

“They mocked the indigenous brothers who came to teach us about silent weapons. To make their situation worse [americanos]the Revolutionary Resistance Tactical Movement training [MTR] will include the topic of silent weapons, with expert indigenous instructors,” said the Chavista minister, according to a report on the Tenemos Notícias website.

“They will learn what curare is. If something stings you here [apontando para o pescoço]Let’s see how far you can walk with that little thing”, said the Chavista at the time.

The United States, which is carrying out a military operation against drug trafficking in the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean that Maduro considers an excuse to remove him from power, has not yet commented on this absurd threat made by Chavismo.
