A disturbance started by left-wing protesters in a restricted area of the UN Climate Summit (COP 30) on Tuesday (11) gained wide coverage in newspapers abroad, on the second day of the event.
Indigenous activists and members of Coletivo Juntos, linked to PSOL, clashed with security guards in the so-called Blue Zone, in an attempt to invade the area. Entrance doors were broken and protesters were contained. In a statement, the UN said it was investigating the case and two security guards were injured.
