At least 25 Palestinians died after four Israeli bombings in the Gaza Strip this Wednesday (19). The attacks took place during the ceasefire signed between Israel and Hamas.
According to the Israeli army, the forces acted against Hamas positions after members of the group allegedly fired at Israeli soldiers. The corporation declared that it reacted to “protect its troops” and maintained that the ceasefire was violated by the Palestinian movement.
Despite the offensive, local authorities did not record any Palestinian injuries beyond the already confirmed fatalities.
Hamas criticized the action and classified the bombings as a “dangerous escalation”. The group also called on the United States to pressure Israel to maintain the agreement and stop military operations.
This is the third episode of non-compliance with the ceasefire since the plan proposed by Donald Trump came into force, just over a month ago. On previous occasions, Israel has also alleged violations by Hamas to justify the offensives.
