This Tuesday (18), the Anti-Faction Bill (PL) is being voted on, reported by deputy Guilherme Derrite. The information was given by the president of the Chamber Hugo Motta.
In the early afternoon, deputy Guilherme Derrite presented the fifth version of his report on the project. Despite criticism from the government, he decided to maintain the division of resources from assets seized from crime between state funds and the Federal Police (PF). When the seizure occurs in joint operations, the report provides that the amounts are shared equally between the parties involved.
Motta stated that PL Antifaction represents “the toughest response in the history of Parliament” against organized crime. In a speech in the plenary, Motta highlighted that the project expands penalties, creates new types of penalties and determines that faction leaders be sent directly to federal prisons.
Furthermore, he also highlighted that the text provides for the recording of conversations between detainees and lawyers, a ban on intimate visits and the classification of crimes as “new bandits”, domination of cities, roadblocks and recruitment of children and adolescents by criminal organizations, with punishments that, according to him, exceed even those provided for in the anti-terrorism law.
Derrite also guaranteed the participation of the Public Ministry in the task forces, allowing prosecutors and prosecutors to conduct investigations independently, including through GAECO. Motta praised the initiative, highlighting the project as a firm response in the fight against organized crime
