Nicole Richie Seemingly Reacts to Hilary Duff’s New Song Amid Joel Madden Rumors
Joel Madden is rejecting any rumors about him and Hilary Duff.
The Good Charlotte frontman showed sweet support for the singer’s latest single “Mature,” amid speculation that the lyrics were inspired by their romance, which lasted from 2004 to 2006.
Joel, 46, reshared his wife Nicole Richie’s Instagram Story post to his own account, which shows Nicole and Hilary laying in the grass and laughing together.
“‘Mature’ is not the word I would use to describe us,” Nicole wrotetagging Hilary, “but regardless, this song is a BOP.”
In the lyrics to her new song—which she co-wrote with husband Matthew Come and Madison Love—Hilary sings about a relationship she had with an older man.
“She looks like she could be your daughter / Like me before I got smarter,” the 38-year-old sings during the chorus. “When I was flattered to hear you say / You’re so mature for your age.”
