A column of smoke rises into the sky over the Gaza Strip after Israeli attacks on October 29, 2025. REUTERS/Ammar Awad The Israeli Army said this Wednesday (19) that it conducted new bombings against Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip due to “violations” of the ceasefire agreement that were allegedly committed by the terrorist group. Eleven Palestinians died and more than 20 were injured, according to local authorities. ✅ Follow the g1 international news channel on WhatsApp According to a statement from the ministry, members of Hamas opened fire on Israeli troops earlier this Wednesday, but there were no injuries. “Earlier today, several terrorists opened fire on the area where Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers are operating in Khan Yunis. This action constitutes a violation of the ceasefire agreement. (…) In response, the IDF began attacking Hamas terrorist targets throughout the Gaza Strip,” the Israeli Army said in a statement. The Gaza Civil Defense, controlled by Hamas, stated that 11 people died in Wednesday’s Israeli bombings. Hamas did not officially comment on the new bombings until the last update of this report. This is the third time that Israel has broken the ceasefire since Donald Trump’s plan to end the conflict came into force just over a month ago. On every occasion, Israel accuses Hamas of violations to justify its action. The first incident occurred on October 19, and more than 30 people died. The second occurred on the 28th of the same month, when more than 100 Palestinians were killed in “powerful attacks” ordered by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. On both occasions, the Israeli government announced the resumption of the ceasefire hours later. The war in the Gaza Strip began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas terrorists invaded Israel and killed more than 1,200 people and kidnapped another 250. In response, Israel employed a large-scale military operation, with a ground invasion and bombing of Gaza. The conflict, in truce since October 13, left around 69,500 Palestinians dead and more than 170,000 injured, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, controlled by Hamas — the count is endorsed by the UN.
