Former president of BRB will give testimony to the PF this Monday

by Marcelo Moreira

The former president of Banco de Brasília (BRB), Paulo Henrique Costa, will give a statement to the Federal Police this Monday (01). He was removed from command of the institution during investigations investigating the purchase of credit portfolios from Banco Master.

Costa was in the United States at the time the operation was launched, but returned to Brazil and handed over his personal electronic devices to the Federal Police. After analyzing the facts, the BRB Board of Directors approved the dismissal of the executive.

The position was taken over by Nelson Souza, former president of Caixa Econômica Federal, whose appointment was approved by the board. Souza has already taken office and heads the institution.

In a note released last week, Paulo Henrique Costa stated that “every investigation conducted by the competent authorities is legitimate, necessary and positive for strengthening institutions and ensuring transparency in the financial system”.
