The speed is equivalent to that of a category 3 hurricane. Torres del Paine National Park is around 1,800 km² and receives hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. The presidential delegate for the Magalhães region, José Antonio Ruiz, stated that conversations have begun with representatives of the victims’ countries of origin so that the bodies can be repatriated.
