Epstein case: release of files will be within 30 days

by Marcelo Moreira

The United States Department of Justice reported this Wednesday (19) that it intends to release, within 30 days, confidential documents linked to the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. The measure responds to pressure from Congress, which approved the project almost unanimously.

Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed the deadline for disclosure and explained that the material will be released gradually, as internal reviews are completed.

The initiative gained momentum after lawmakers demanded transparency and voted to force President Donald Trump’s government to make the files public.

Now, the text goes to presidential sanction. The expectation in Washington is that the release of the documents will increase pressure for new investigations and clarify still unclear aspects of the case.
