The modernization of the electrical grid in Bahia will be driven by an investment of R$1.8 billion, the result of an agreement signed between Neoenergia and the European Investment Bank.
The loan of 300 million euros was announced during COP30, held in Belém, Pará, and represents an important step in the European Union’s strategy to support climate projects in Brazil.
The agreement, which was signed in July, is part of a project that should finance clean energy and sustainable infrastructure initiatives in developing countries.
The resources will be used to expand the electrical network, new connections and the implementation of automation equipment by Neoenergia Coelba, the distributor responsible for supplying energy to 6 million consumers in 415 municipalities in Bahia.
