CUFA mobilizes donations for families affected by tornado in southern Brazil

by Marcelo Moreira

The scenario in southern Brazil is critical after the passage of a tornado that devastated several cities in the region. According to authorities, more than 13,000 people were impacted, 7,000 families lost their homes and more than 2,000 people were injured.

Faced with the tragedy, CUFA (Central Única das Favelas) began a national solidarity campaign to help rebuild the affected communities. The entity is distributing water, food, mattresses and setting up solidarity kitchens to serve homeless families.

The organization offers two ways to contribute to the initiative, which aims to save lives and support the reconstruction of devastated areas:

  • Donation via PIX: Cash contributions can be made directly to the key sosparana@cufa.org.br.
  • Donation Delivery: In-person donations of groceries and other items can be delivered to Instituto Athús, in Curitiba:
    • Local: Av. Cel. Francisco H. dos Santos, 950 Jardim das Américas – Curitiba/PR.
    • Contact: (41) 98500-0754.

CUFA reinforces that any amount is welcome and can make a difference for those who have lost everything.
