Lawyers for former president Jair Bolsonaro stated, this Saturday (22), that they had not been informed of the former president’s arrest. Bolsonaro was preventively arrested in compliance with a warrant authorized by the Federal Supreme Court (STF).
The PF justified the request as important for guaranteeing public order.
The organization took the decision after senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) called a vigil in support of the former president near the Solar de Brasília 2 condominium, where Bolsonaro was under house arrest.
The PF assessed that the act represented a risk for participants and police officers.

The defense of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) asked minister Alexandre de Moraesof the Federal Supreme Court (STF), maintain the house arrest regimeclaiming that his health condition makes serving his sentence in a prison unit unfeasible.
In the document, filed in the early afternoon of this Friday (21), the lawyers state that Bolsonaro suffers from multiple serious illnesses, in addition to permanent sequelae from surgeries following the 2018 stabbing. At least 11 medical reports were attached to justify the statement.
