Unfortunately, shortly after the start of his journey, Ross was involved in a serious accident. When he fell off his bike, he hit his head so hard that he was unable to move his arms and legs, so he complained to Lehman.

After a while, feeling in his legs returned, but the intense heat of the Simpson Desert hampered his recovery.

Lehman did his best to keep Ross still and cool while waiting for the medical team to arrive.

He cut off some of Ross’ clothing to improve ventilation and then built a makeshift shelter to provide shade. I also poured over the few bottles of water I had with me, trying to lower my body temperature as much as possible.

A rescue helicopter eventually arrived at the scene. The medical team quickly treated Ross for shock and pain and stabilized him for transport to the hospital.

According to the video description posted on YouTube, Ross made a surprisingly quick recovery and did not suffer from the spinal injuries that were most feared immediately after the accident.

This video serves as a valuable record of the high effectiveness of remote rescue and the importance of going on an adventure with friends who can help each other in an emergency.
