The First Panel of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) decided, unanimously, this Thursday (13), to make Eduardo Tagliaferro, former advisor to Alexandre de Moraes at the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), a defendant.
Tagliaferro is accused of acting against the legitimacy of the electoral process and trying to undermine investigations into undemocratic acts.
The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) denounced him for breach of functional secrecy, coercion during the process, obstruction of an investigation involving a criminal organization and attempted violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law.
Currently in Italy, the former advisor is the target of an extradition request made by the Brazilian government.
Ministers Cármen Lúcia, Alexandre de Moraes, Cristiano Zanin and Flávio Dino voted to receive the complaint. Despite the unanimity, the session continues until this Friday (14), in the Supreme Court’s electronic system.
