Soldiers of the 80th Independent Air Assault Brigade of the Galician Airborne Forces have received American M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, expanding the unit’s tactical capabilities on the Ukrainian front.
According to a video published by the brigade’s press service, the M2 Bradley fighting vehicles were officially included in the unit’s arsenal.
However, as the frontline use of drones has increased, the use of these vehicles has become more limited — they are deployed only when deemed necessary.

Adapting to the new conditions, armored vehicles were equipped with additional protective structures against enemy drones — metal grills called “grills” among soldiers. These structures are intended to reduce the impact of airstrikes by small drones equipped with explosives.
The commander of one of the vehicles, identified as Ruszlan, had this to say about the Bradley’s performance and his hopes for technological improvements:
“I’ve read that during Operation Desert Storm in Iraq, the Bradley proved to be extremely effective. I hope that in our war, they will soon come up with something against fiber optic drones. Then this equipment will prove its worth again.”

The 81st Bukovyna Brigade also recently received vehicles of the same type, further strengthening the presence of American-made equipment in the Ukrainian armed forces.
The M2 Bradley is considered one of the most versatile infantry fighting vehicles in the world. 25 mm M242 Bushmaster its automatic cannon can penetrate the armor of most Russian vehicles and can fire up to 500 rounds per minute in single or burst mode.
The United States has supplied M2 Bradley vehicles as part of military aid packages to Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict.
