Soldiers of the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade of the Galician Airborne Forces have received American M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, expanding the unit’s tactical capabilities on the Ukrainian front.
According to a video released by the 80th Brigade press service, the M2 Bradleys have been officially added to the unit’s arsenal.
However, with the increasing use of drones on the front lines, the use of these vehicles has become more limited — they are only used when deemed necessary.

To adapt to this new reality, the armored vehicles were equipped with additional protective structures against enemy drones — known among soldiers as “grills.” These metal grilles are intended to reduce the effect of attacks from small aerial bomb drones.
The commander of one of the vehicles, identified as Ruslan, commented on the Bradley’s performance and the hope for new technological solutions:
“I read that the Bradley proved extremely effective during Operation Desert Storm in Iraq. I hope that something against fiber optic drones will soon be invented in our war. Then this device will prove itself again.”

The 81st Bukovyna Brigade also recently received units of the same model, further strengthening the presence of American vehicles in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The M2 Bradley is considered one of the most versatile armored personnel carriers in the world. His 25mm autocannon M242 Bushmaster can penetrate the armor of most Russian vehicles and fire up to 500 rounds per minute – individually or in volleys.
The United States delivered the M2 Bradley to Ukraine as part of military assistance packages provided since the start of the conflict.
