Soldiers of the 80th Independent Airborne Assault Brigade of the Galicia Airborne Forces received American M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, strengthening the unit’s tactical capabilities on the Ukrainian front.
According to a video released by the press service of the 80th Brigade, the M2 Bradleys were officially integrated into the unit’s arsenal.
However, with the increased use of drones on the front lines, the employment of these vehicles has become more limited — they are only used when deemed necessary.

To cope with this new reality, armored vehicles have been equipped with additional protective structures against enemy drones – known to the military as “grills” or “barbecues”. These metal meshes aim to reduce the impact of aerial attacks carried out by small explosive drones.
The commander of one of the vehicles, identified as Ruslan, commented on the Bradley’s performance and expressed hope for new technological solutions:
“I read that during Operation Desert Storm in Iraq, the Bradleys were extremely effective. I hope that in our war they will soon invent something against fiber optic drones. Then this equipment will once again prove its worth. »

The 81st Bukovyna Brigade also recently received units of the same model, strengthening the presence of American vehicles within the Ukrainian forces.
The M2 Bradley is considered one of the most versatile infantry fighting vehicles in the world. Its automatic cannon M242 Bushmaster 25mm can penetrate the armor of most Russian vehicles and fire up to 500 rounds per minute, in single or burst mode.
The United States has supplied the M2 Bradleys to Ukraine as part of military aid packages sent since the start of the conflict.
