Soldiers from the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Galician Air Forces have received US M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, increasing the unit’s tactical capabilities on the Ukrainian front.
According to a video published by the brigade’s press service, the M2 Bradley is now officially included in the unit’s arsenal.
However, with the increasing use of drones on the front lines, the use of these vehicles has become more limited — they are used only when deemed necessary.

To meet this new reality, the armored vehicles have been given additional protective structures against enemy drones — known among soldiers as “grills”. These metal grids are designed to reduce the impact of attacks from small, explosive drones.
The commander of one of the vehicles, identified as Ruslan, commented on Bradley’s performance and hopes for new technological solutions:
“I read that during Operation Desert Storm in Iraq the Bradley proved to be extremely effective. I hope that in our war they soon invent something against fiber optic drones. Then this equipment will again prove its worth.”

The 81st Bukovyna Brigade has also recently received units of the same model, further strengthening the presence of American-made vehicles in the Ukrainian forces.
The M2 Bradley is considered one of the world’s most versatile infantry fighting vehicles. The 25mm automatic M242 Bushmaster-cannon can penetrate the armor of most Russian vehicles and can fire up to 500 rounds per minute in single or volley mode.
The US has delivered the M2 Bradley to Ukraine as part of the military aid packages that have been sent since the beginning of the conflict.
