During the practical test, the future mechanic-drivers demonstrated their ability to accurately maneuver a multi-ton vehicle through narrow passages and complex terrain, operating the PGRK “Yars”, one of the most powerful nuclear deterrent systems in the world.
Before the practical test, the soldiers took a theory test. The exam covers general military subjects to detailed knowledge of the structure and functioning of the “Yars” complex, which is designed to ensure the strategic nuclear capabilities of the Russian Federation.
The technical school has state-of-the-art infrastructure with high-precision simulators and 3D graphics, allowing students to improve their driving and operating skills in various climatic and terrain conditions. This is an important element for tactically operating “Yars” in actual operational situations.

PGRK “Yars” (RS-24) is one of Russia’s main mobile nuclear deterrent systems. It is equipped with multiple nuclear warheads and has a range of over 11,000 kilometers. It has high strategic maneuverability and strong resistance to pre-emptive attacks. Mounted on a 16×16-powered high-mobility transporter, it can move quickly over paved roads and unpaved terrain, making it extremely difficult to detect by enemy intelligence systems.
