V2Xan American defense and military technology company, has just launched the Tempest presented their new buggy armed with missiles.
According to information from Defence Blog the new combat vehicle was unveiled at the United States Army Association’s 2025 exhibition (STEAM).
According to the company, the Tempest specially designed for short and discrete missions where mobility and survivability are crucial.
The vehicle can detect, track and neutralize Class 2 and Class 3 unmanned aerial systems (UAS), even under poor weather conditions, before moving to avoid an enemy counterattack.
On the STEAMfair presented V2X a prototype of the Tempest equipped with two AGM-114 Hellfire missiles and a compact tactical radar system.
The use of the Hellfire missile launch configuration is intended to increase the lethality of compact and mobile UAS defense systems, the company said.
V2X explained that the system is designed to handle overlapping mission types sequentially or simultaneously, depending on operational requirements.
“Of Tempest is a rugged commercial combat vehicle designed for high-speed, low-exposure missions,” the company said Defence Blog.
V2X also offers a trailer version of it Tempestsystem for static or semi-static operations, including base defense and airfield perimeter protection.
Meanwhile, the modular radar portion allows the platform to switch between mobile and stationary configurations without losing situational awareness or tracking accuracy.
