The United Kingdom has provided Ukraine with more than 85,000 drones in the first six months of 2025 as part of its military aid, according to an official announcement from the British government.

The initiative was made possible thanks to accelerated production by British companies and support for jobs in both countries.

Defense Secretary John Healey highlighted that this year’s £600 million investment has allowed it to speed up the delivery of drones to Ukrainian forces, including tens of thousands of FPV models, essential for precision battlefield operations. The equipment has been used in specific attacks, reconnaissance and the interception of Russian drones.

Last week, the United Kingdom also reported the early delivery of hundreds of Martlet missiles, bolstering Ukraine’s air defense against Russian drone and missile attacks. Healey said increasing drone production and strengthening NATO’s air defense are necessary responses to the Russian military buildup in Ukraine and Europe.
