Inspired by performance, the prototype combines aggressive styling, functionality, and the sporty spirit of the 2025 Camry XSE Hybrid AWD.
Toyota surprised attendees by unveiling the Camry GT-S Concept at the 2025 SEMA Showone of the world’s largest automotive events. Based on the 2025 Camry XSE AWD Hybrid, the concept was developed as a design study that merges sporty style, functional engineering, and production feasibility.
Although it is a conceptual exploration, the GT-S maintains a realistic goal: creating a sports sedan that looks ready to go from the showroom directly to a customer’s garage. Unlike the extravagant projects often seen at SEMA, the model keeps the 2.5-liter hybrid engine with 232 hp unchanged, as well as the production Camry interior — emphasizing that the focus is on exterior design, stance, and chassis enhancements.

“The Camry GT-S Concept is an exciting study with aspirations born from the racetrack,” said Kevin Hunter, Executive Design Director of Toyota North America. “Our goal was to envision the next evolution of the Camry XSE, with aggressive enhancements that reinforce its unique position among sports sedans.”
The project was led by the CALTY Design Research team in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in collaboration with Toyota’s R&D department. The result is a bolder look, with a redesigned rear panel, bumper integrated with a sporty exhaust, and new front and side aerodynamic elements that enhance the model’s athletic profile. The finishing touch is the exclusive “Inferno Flare” paint inspired by motorsports.
“We wanted to create something aspirational yet achievable,” explained Adam Rabinowitz, CALTY’s chief designer. “The GT-S is a platform to test ideas and gather direct consumer feedback on the future of the Camry.”
Beyond styling, the Camry GT-S Concept received adjustable coilover suspension that lowers the ride height by 1.5 inches, improving handling and giving a more aggressive stance. The braking system was upgraded with eight-piston front calipers and six-piston rear calipers, with 365 mm and 356 mm rotors, respectively. 20-inch sport wheels with 245/35R20 tires complete the performance package.

“The Camry has always been a cornerstone of our lineup,” noted Mike Tripp, Vice President of Marketing at Toyota Group. “With the GT-S Concept, we show what’s possible when you combine a sedan’s DNA with sporty attitude and personality. It’s a car customers can really imagine themselves driving.”
The Camry GT-S Concept will be on display from November 4–7 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, at the Toyota booth (Central Hall – 22200), as part of the “Powered by Possibility” theme, celebrating innovation across all types of powertrains — combustion, hybrid, plug-in, electric, and fuel cell.

The model is a modified prototype with special parts not commercially available. Modifications may affect performance, safety, and warranty, and are not street-legal.
