Inspired by performance, the prototype combines aggressive style, functionality and the sporty spirit of the 2025 Camry XSE Hybrid AWD.

Toyota surprised the public by introducing the Camry GT-S Concept during the SEMA Show 2025one of the largest automotive events in the world. The concept, based on the 2025 Camry XSE AWD Hybrid, was developed as a design study that combines sporty styling, functional engineering and manufacturing feasibility.

Although a conceptual exploration, the GT-S maintains a realistic goal: to create a sports sedan ready to leave the showroom and arrive directly in the customer’s garage. Unlike the outlandish designs common at SEMA, the model retains the 2.5-liter, 232-hp hybrid engine, as well as the interior of the production Camry — with the focus on exterior design, stance and chassis enhancements.

“The Camry GT-S concept is an exciting study with aspirations born from the racetrack,” said Kevin Hunter, executive director of Design, Toyota North America. “Our goal was to imagine the next evolution of the Camry XSE, with aggressive improvements that strengthen its unique position among sport sedans.”

The project was led by the CALTY Design Research team in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in collaboration with Toyota’s R&D department. The result is a bolder look, with a redesigned rear panel, bumper integrated with a sports exhaust and new front and side aerodynamic elements that enhance the model’s athletic profile. The finishing touch is the exclusive “Inferno Flare” paint job, inspired by motorsport.

“We wanted to create something aspirational but attainable,” explained Adam Rabinowitz, lead designer of CALTY. “The GT-S is a platform to test ideas and gather direct consumer feedback on the future of the Camry.”

In addition to the aesthetics, the Camry GT-S Concept received adjustable coilover suspension, which lowers the ride height by 1.5 inches, improving handling and giving it a more aggressive stance. The braking system has been upgraded with eight-piston calipers at the front and six-piston calipers at the rear, with 365 mm and 356 mm discs. 20-inch sport wheels with 245/35R20 tires complete the performance package.

“The Camry has always been a cornerstone of our lineup,” said Mike Tripp, Toyota Group Vice President of Marketing. “With the GT-S Concept, we show what’s possible when sedan DNA is combined with sporty attitude and personality. It’s a car that customers can truly imagine driving.”

The Camry GT-S Concept will be on display November 4-7 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in the Toyota booth (Central Hall – 22200), as part of the “Powered by Possibility” theme, which celebrates innovation in all types of powertrains — combustion, hybrid, plug-in, electric and fuel cell.
