This performance-inspired prototype combines aggressive style, functionality, and the sporty spirit of the 2025 Camry XSE Hybrid AWD.
Toyota is one of the world’s largest automotive eventsSEMA Show 2025in,Camry GT-S Conceptannounced and surprised the audience. This concept is based on the 2025 Camry XSE AWD Hybrid and was developed as a design study that combines sporty design, functional engineering, and production possibilities.
Despite being an exploration of the concept, the GT-S has realistic goals. Our goal is to create a sports sedan that can go straight from the showroom to the customer’s garage. Unlike the flashy projects often seen at SEMA, this model retains the same 2.5-liter, 232-horsepower hybrid engine and the production Camry’s interior remains unchanged. The focus is on improving the exterior design, vehicle posture, and chassis.

“The Camry GT-S Concept is an ambitious study born out of the track,” said Kevin Hunter, Toyota North America’s executive director of design. “Our goal was to imagine the next evolution of the Camry XSE and add aggressive improvements that strengthen its unique position as a sporty sedan.”
The project was a collaboration between the CALTY Design Research team in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Toyota’s R&D department. The result is a bolder look, with a redesigned rear panel, sports muffler and integrated bumper, and new front, rear and side aerodynamic elements that emphasize the model’s athletic profile. The final touch is a unique motorsport-inspired ‘Inferno Flare’ paint job.
“We wanted to create something that was both ambitious and affordable,” explains Adam Rabinowitz, CALTY’s chief designer. “GT-S is a platform to test ideas and gather feedback directly from consumers about the future of Camry.”
Beyond looks, the Camry GT-S Concept also features an adjustable coil-over suspension that lowers the ride height by 1.5 inches for improved handling and a more aggressive stance. The braking system is enhanced with 8-piston front and 6-piston rear calipers and 365mm and 356mm rotors, respectively. 20-inch sport wheels and 245/35R20 tires complete the performance package.

“Camry has always been a pillar of our lineup,” emphasizes Mike Tripp, Toyota Group Vice President of Marketing. “The GT-S Concept shows what’s possible when you combine sedan DNA with a sporty attitude and personality. It’s a car that customers can really imagine driving.”
The Camry GT-S Concept will be on display at the Toyota booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center (Central Hall – 22200) from November 4th to 7th, celebrating innovation in all power sources including internal combustion, hybrid, plug-in, electric and fuel cell under the theme “Powered by Possibility.”
