Inspired by performance, the prototype combines aggressive style, functionality and the sporty spirit of the 2025 Camry XSE Hybrid AWD.
Toyota surprised the audience with the presentation of the Camry GT-S Concept on the SEMA Show 2025one of the largest automotive events in the world. The concept, based on the 2025 Camry XSE AWD Hybrid, was developed as a design study that combines sporty styling, functional technology and production feasibility.
Although it’s a conceptual exploration, the GT-S has a realistic goal: to create a sports sedan that’s ready to drive straight from the showroom to the customer’s garage. Unlike the elaborate projects common at SEMA, the model retains the unchanged 232-horsepower 2.5-liter hybrid engine and interior design of the production Camry — with a focus on exterior design, stance and chassis improvements.

“The Camry GT-S Concept is an exciting study with racing-inspired ambitions,” said Kevin Hunter, head of design, Toyota North America. “Our goal was to design the next evolution of the Camry XSE, with aggressive enhancements that reinforce its unique position among sport sedans.”
The project was led by the CALTY Design Research Team in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in collaboration with Toyota’s R&D department. The result is a bolder appearance with a revised rear panel, bumper with integrated sports exhaust and new aerodynamic elements at the front and sides that emphasize the model’s athletic profile. The finishing touch is the exclusive “Inferno Flare” paint, inspired by motorsport.
“We wanted to create something inspiring but achievable,” explained Adam Rabinowitz, chief designer at CALTY. “The GT-S serves as a platform to test ideas and collect direct feedback from consumers about the future of the Camry.”
In addition to styling, the Camry GT-S Concept received an adjustable coilover suspension that reduces height by 1.5 inches, improving drivability and giving a more aggressive stance. The braking system has been upgraded with 8-piston front and 6-piston rear calipers, with discs of 365 mm and 356 mm. The 20-inch sports rims with 245/35R20 tires complete the performance package.

“The Camry has always been a pillar of our portfolio,” emphasized Mike Tripp, Toyota Group vice president of marketing. “With the GT-S Concept we show what’s possible when you combine the DNA of a sedan with a sporty attitude and personality. It’s a car that customers can really imagine driving.”
The Camry GT-S Concept will be on display November 4-7 at the Las Vegas Convention Center at the Toyota booth (Central Hall – 22200) as part of the theme “Powered by Possibility,” which celebrates innovation across all powertrains — combustion, hybrid, plug-in, electric and fuel cell.

The model is a modified prototype with special, commercially unavailable parts. The modifications may affect performance, safety and warranty and are not approved for public use.
