Project Motor Racing is one of the most intriguing sim-racing titles on the horizon. Many of the same folks behind the underrated Project Cars 2 are also behind this new franchise, which looks to distinguish itself with a neat car and track list and a realistic career mode. And this gameplay trailer is really whetting our appetites.
The video is pretty simple: Just an onboard of a Saleen S7-R chasing down a Chevrolet Corvette C5-R and other modern-classic GTs around the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (née Mosport). Obviously, there’s only so much we can glean from a clip like this, but we love the choice of car and track. And, it looks and sounds great.
The car list for Project Motor Racing isn’t huge so far, but it’s got a lot of intriguing machines from racing history. There are modern prototypes like the Lamborghini SC63 and Aston Martin Valkyrie, GT3 cars like the Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) and Mustang GT3, but classics too. Obviously, there’s the aforementioned Saleen and Corvette C5-R, but also the Audi R8 LMP900, Porsche 911 GT1-98, Lola T70, Mazda 787B, and so many more.
The track list is pretty tasty, too, with the Nürburgring, Spa, Zolder, Silverstone, Lime Rock, Sebring, Bathurst, and Kyalami. More are coming, as well.
Project Motor Racing seemingly splits the difference between more arcade-y titles like Grand Tourism and Forzaand more serious sims like iRacing and Assetto Corsa. Also notable is the fact that this title will be available on PlayStation and Xbox in addition to PC.
The game is set to arrive on November 25th across platforms, with your $89.99 getting you the game plus a DLC pack of late 2010s/early 2020s GTE race cars.
