Video shows simulation of how thieves entered the Louvre It was 9:30 in the morning when four criminals entered the Louvre Museum and escaped with billions in jewelry, after accessing the first floor through a side window of the Apolo Gallery. A simulation that shows step by step how criminals managed to enter the most visited museum in the world was shown on Fantástico this Sunday (20) (see the video above). The thieves escaped without being detained. The police found a blowtorch, gloves, a blanket and a radio communicator at the scene. One of the motorcycles used in the escape has already been located, and the police are trying to identify the thieves, who were hooded and dressed like workers. See the museum’s jewels taken by thieves One of the pieces, the crown of Empress Eugenia, from Napoleon III, with 1,354 diamonds and 56 emeralds, was recovered, but was damaged. Eight 19th century jewels that belonged to the French crown were taken, including two tiaras, two necklaces, two brooches and two pairs of earrings. The theft caused a rush among visitors. Brazilian Aline Lemos was recording the gallery when she heard the noise of the invasion. Tourists had to evacuate the place in a hurry. “It was a dream to visit, but unfortunately it didn’t happen”, lamented Joélia, a Brazilian visitor. A group of friends from Mato Grosso said they still hope the museum reopens soon.
