Another Disney reboot is on the way! Following the success of reboots like Raven’s Home and Wizards of Waverly Placefans can now look forward to the return of Malcolm in the Middle.
According to Deadline in December 2024, Disney Branded Television President Come on Davis praised the iconic 2000s sitcom, saying, “Malcolm in the Middle is a landmark sitcom that captured the essence of family life with humor, heart and relatability.” She added, “Its hilarious and heartfelt portrayal of a lovably chaotic family resonated with audiences of all ages, and we’re so excited to welcome the original cast back to bring that magic to life again. With Linwood Boomer and the creative team at the helm, these new episodes will have all the laughs, pranks, and mayhem fans loved — along with a few surprises that remind us why this show is so timeless.”

According to Deadlineoriginal cast members Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranstonand Jane Kaczmarek will reprise their roles as Malcolm and his parents, Hal and Lois, for the four-episode reboot series.
In March 2025, Variety revealed that Malcolm’s siblings, Francis and Reese, played by Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfieldrespectively, will be returning for the reboot. However, Erik Per Sullivanwho originally played Dewey, will not be reprising his role. Instead, actor Caleb Ellsworth-Clark will take over the character.
Additionally, Anthony Timpano has been cast as Malcolm’s youngest brother, Jamie, who was seen as a baby and toddler on the original series. Vaughan Murray will portray Malcolm’s newest sibling, Kelly, whose existence was revealed in the series finale when Lois is seen holding a positive pregnancy test. Keeley Karsten will play Malcolm’s daughter, Leah.
