The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police and the Public Prosecution Service began this Thursday (2) another phase of the “Operation Operation”, against the territorial expansion of the Red Command (CV). The initiative aims at the advance of the faction to the mountainous region, about all Petrópolis, from the Maré Complex, in the north of Rio.

Agents of the 106th DP (Itaipava) and the Special Resources Coordination (Core) and prosecutors of the Specialized Expertise Group in Combating Organized Crime (Gaeco/MPRJ) went out to serve 18 arrest warrants. In addition, the court ordered about $ 700,000 in assets of the criminal organization.

The investigations identified 55 involved in the scheme and revealed that the leader of the criminal organization, his right arm and other cronies are hidden at Parque União, in Complexo da Maré, where there are also steps. They are responsible for coordinating the transportation logistics of narcotics.

The illicit material is transported from the capital to the mountainous region, being redistributed in different areas of Itaipava, each under the responsibility of local managers. According to the agents, the group also exercised territorial control and applied violent rules to the community, imposing fear and repression to those opposed to the faction.
