Peru had protests from Generation Z before the president’s fall

In the case of Brazil, the protests were followed by widespread discontent with the political class, Operation Lava Jato, the impeachment of President Dilma Rousseff, the national projection of Jair Bolsonaro — and of Bolsonarism as a political movement —, in addition to the polarization and strengthening of the extreme right in Brazil.
