The owner of a Porsche 911 is being investigated by authorities after reporting that his car had been stolen, but images obtained by police showed him setting the vehicle on fire.

The case happened last Sunday (5) on a rural property in Lapa, located in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba, in Paraná, southern Brazil.
The 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera, valued at around US$130,000, was late on tax payments, although the amount of debt was not disclosed.
In his version, the owner of the vehicle claimed that he had been kidnapped after being approached by two men who were in a pickup truck.
After being placed in the back seat and taken to the rural road, he stated that he was abandoned inside the car, which was already on fire.
He was rescued by people passing by and taken to a health unit because he had burns on his body.
But, after reporting what happened, authorities found images from security cameras that showed the owner of the vehicle setting the car on fire.
According to the State Highway Police (PRE), the person who appears in the video has the same characteristics as the owner, including the same clothes he was wearing when he went to file the police report.
