Operation Without Borders was launched by the CGU last April with the aim of combating an irregular associative discount scheme for beneficiaries of the National Social Security Institute (INSS).
According to investigations, entities had deducted around R$6.3 billion between 2019 and 2024. At least six public servants were removed from their duties and the scandal led to the opening of a Joint Parliamentary Investigative Committee to investigate the case.
