The Chavista dictator, Nicolás Maduro, and his top brass seem to be experiencing increasingly tense days amid the United States’ military campaign near the South American country.
In his most recent statement, the leader of the Caracas regime called on American President Donald Trump to end pressure on the Caribbean Sea, in a message in English.
“No crazy war, please” said Maduro at a political event in the Venezuelan capital, which was broadcast by state broadcaster VTV.
Amid growing pressure on the top brass of the Chavista dictatorship, the United States will begin military exercises in partnership with Trinidad and Tobago, located near Venezuela.
The Caribbean country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement that a United States Navy destroyer USS Gravely (DDG-107) “will carry out joint training with the Trinidad and Tobago Defense Force (TTDF)” starting October 30.
To date, the American Armed Forces have carried out ten attacks in international waters, eight in the Caribbean Sea and two in the Pacific, near the coast of Colombia.
The most recent operation was announced by Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, this Friday (24). “Overnight, on orders from President (Donald) Trump, the Department of War carried out a lethal kinetic attack against a shipment operated by Trem de Aragua (TdA), a Designated Terrorist Organization (DTO), which was trafficking narcotics in the Caribbean Sea,” he stated in X.
Maduro, in turn, announced on Thursday (23) that the Bolivarian Armed Forces (FANB), police and members of the Bolivarian Militia will carry out military exercises that will last 72 hours amid the United States naval mobilization in the Caribbean Sea.
“This exercise will continue for 72 hours, because now it is necessary to fix all the points”, said the Chavista dictator in an event broadcast on the state television channel VTV.
Just the day before, Maduro boasted of possessing “thousands” of Russian Igla-S missiles, which he described as “one of the most powerful weapons in existence”, which could be used to protect Venezuela.
In a later announcement on Thursday, Trump said the United States was preparing an expansion of its military operations against drug cartels in Latin America. According to the Republican leader, “land will be the next step.”
