Keith Urban Changed Song Lyrics Inspired by Nicole Kidman Romance Before Breakup News
Keith Urban is no longer making memories with Nicole Kidman.
Three days after news that the country singer and his wife of almost 20 years had broken up, the newly single Keith made his return to the stage in Hershey, Pennsylvania, as part of his ongoing High and Alive World Tour. But that doesn’t mean he’s left his loved ones behind.
During the Oct. 2 show, a photo featuring Nicole and their two daughters Sunday Rose17, and Faith Margaret,14, was kept in a preexisting slideshow, per People, that plays during Keith’s performance of “Heart Like a Hometown.”
Days earlier, it was at Keith’s Sept. 27 show that he raised eyebrows by changing lyrics in his song “The Fighter,” which was inspired by his and Nicole’s relationship.
While the lyrics originally read, “When they’re tryna get to you, baby I’ll be the fighter,” he altered the words to address musician Maggie Baughwho was playing by his side.
“When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie,” the 57-year-old sang, “I’ll be your guitar player.”
