Former President of the United States, Kamala Harris, revealed to the British news network BBC that she may return to run for president of the country in the elections scheduled for 2028. During her first interview in the United Kingdom, the Democrat said that she will “possibly” take over the White House one day and that she is confident that a woman will lead the country in the future.
“I’m not done yet,” said the former vice president. “I’ve lived my entire career as a life of service and that’s at my core.”
The Democrat also rejected polls that place her as “unlucky” to run for the White House.
“If I had listened to the polls, I wouldn’t have run for my first or second office — and I certainly wouldn’t be sitting here,” Kamala Harris said.
The former vice president criticized the current president of the United States, Donald Trump. She claimed that her predictions of “behaving like a fascist” came true, calling the Republican a “tyrant.”
Harris also delivered harsh criticism against business leaders and institutions who, according to her, are “kneeling to Trump”, pointing out an alleged “desire to be on the side of power to approve a merger or avoid an investigation.”
2024 White House Race
Kamala Harris replaced the then President of the United States, Joe Biden, after he withdrew from re-election in July 2024. The former head of state faced strong criticism from the Democratic Party because of his poor performance during the campaign, especially in a debate against Donald Trump.
Harris took over as head of the ticket after receiving approval from Biden himself, trying to present herself as a new leadership alternative for the Democrats. However, she was surpassed by Trump, who achieved greater approval in 27 states, compared to 18 for the then former vice president.
