The former vice president of the United States defeated by Donald Trump in the last election, Kamala Harris, said this Saturday (25) that she will “possibly” try to run for president of the United States again.
In an interview with the UK’s BBC, the Democrat highlighted that she still sees her future in American politics, but admitted that the decision to run for office again has not yet been made.
“I’m not finished yet […] “I have lived my entire career as a life of service and that is at my core,” he said.
Harris minimized research that suggests that her name would have little chance of winning within the Democratic party to head the ticket for the next election. “If I had listened to the polls, I wouldn’t have run for my first or second office — and I certainly wouldn’t be sitting here,” he pointed out.
No program Sunday with Laura Kuenssbergshe criticized the current government of Donald Trump, whom she calls a “tyrant”, and who “behaves like a fascist”.
“He said he would use the Justice Department as a weapon — and that’s exactly what he did,” he said.
In August of this year, Trump withdrew the Secret Service protection granted to Harris, who claims a legal right to six months of protection after leaving office, a period that would end on July 21 but was extended by Biden for another year, in one of his last acts before leaving the White House.
Kamala Harris headed the Democratic ticket in the last election after Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from re-election in July 2024, following pressure from allies due to his poor performance in the debate with Trump.
Presenting herself as a new progressive leader of the traditional party, Harris was defeated at the polls, both in votes per state (delegates) and in the popular vote.
