This Wednesday (22), the Italian Public Ministry announced that it is in favor of the extradition of licensed federal deputy Carla Zambelli. The information is from the Attorney General’s Office (AGU). She was convicted twice by the Federal Supreme Court.
In July, Zambelli was arrested in Rome, Italy. Previously, she had fled to the country when the STF was deciding whether the deputy would be convicted. The prison decision came from the Italian city’s Court of Appeal, which considered him a possible flight risk.
The first time, she was sentenced to 10 years in prison for invading National Justice Council systems and ideological falsehood, in partnership with hacker Walter Delgatti Neto.
In the second conviction, Carla Zambelli was sentenced to 5 years and 3 months in prison, in a semi-open regime, that is, she would have the right to work outside the prison during the day, but would need to return to sleep in the prison unit.
Furthermore, the Court ordered her to pay a fine equivalent to 400 minimum wages, calculated based on the value in force in 2022, but updated to current values.
The decision also established that the deputy will lose her mandate, but this will only happen after the conviction is considered final, that is, when there is no longer a chance to appeal the decision.
