The terrorist group Hamas has accused Israel of trying to create deadlocks in choosing the names of Palestinian prisoners to be released. One of the extremist group’s officials took to social media to suggest that the Israeli government is backing down from some decisions made during the peace talks.
Benjamin Netanyahu’s government has not yet commented on the matter, but in a recent statement, the minister said that the ceasefire agreement was a “moral victory” for Israel.
The new agreement signed between Hamas and Israel guarantees the release of prisoners, as well as hostages kidnapped by Hamas in 2023, by next week. Many of these prisoners are sentenced to harsh sentences, including life in prison.
