A symbol of French industrial sovereignty
The Rafale program has been developed under the supervision of the Directorate General for Arms (DGA), as a major contractor to Dassault Aviation and participates in more than 400 French companies. The program is one of the pillars of French industrial and military sovereignty thanks to the key technologies developed and its success in the export markets.
So far, a total of 533 Rafalers have been officially ordered France and eight foreign countries, of which 233 are still needed. In order to meet increasing international demand, Dassault wants to increase its production in the coming years to produce four aircraft a month.
Operational success story
The first Rafale airplanes were served in 2004 at the French Navy and two years later at the French Air Force. International transportation began in 2015 and Egypt was the first foreign customer.
With its missions from ground attacks to air superiority, Rafale earned its reputation in operations in the Middle East, Africa and Europe, proving its efficiency, robustness and tactical flexibility.
