A CR450 high-speed train reached 453 km/h during the test run, thereby breaking the speed record of several similar trains.
The train is a China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) developed and surpassed its predecessor, the CR400the speed of 420 km/h, as well as the German railway 405 km/h test record. THE Science and Technology Daily (STD) a CR450called “the world’s fastest electric multi-car unit (EMU)”.
Although there are faster trains, the Chinese one maglev it recently reached 650 km/h in seven seconds during testing. That’s why the CR450 its speed is still remarkable for a wheeled train entering service.

The train is being tested on the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu high-speed line, but its technical performance is still being evaluated. Before the CR450 to be licensed for passenger transport, it must cover 600,000 kilometers under real conditions.
So far, all performance indicators have been approved by the Chinese authorities. Next year, the technology will be tested in conditions closer to the commercial plant. If the tests are successful, the high-speed train could enter traffic as early as 2026.
