Born on October 7, 1967, in Caracas, Machado comes from a traditional family and studied industrial engineering. In 1992, he founded Fundación Atenea, dedicated to welcoming street children. Ten years later, he co-founded the Súmate movement, aimed at promoting free and transparent elections.
