Federal Supreme Court (STF) minister Luís Roberto Barroso felt unwell this Wednesday (15) and went to the emergency room at Hospital Sírio Libanês, in Brasília (DF), to undergo medical examinations.
According to the STF press office, Barroso is under observation at the health unit and has undergone a series of examinations for evaluation. The initial suspicion of the cause of the malaise was a virus. He will remain hospitalized in the early hours of this Thursday (16).
The minister, who is 67 years old, requested early retirement and will leave his position at the STF next Saturday (18). President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) has not yet announced who his replacement will be.
