The aircraft arrived at the Royal Australian Air Force base in Richmond, New South Wales – transported on board a US Air Force C-17 Globemaster III.

With this delivery, the Australian Army now has 17 of the 40 planned UH-60M Black Hawk, which is gradually replacing the aging fleet MRH-90 Typhoon-replace helicopters. The replacement program is part of a comprehensive Australian military aviation modernization plan that will last until 2030.

The new helicopters improve troop mobility and provide increased capacity for rapid transport of personnel, equipment and rescue operations in combat situations.
According to the official statement, “U.S.-Australia defense cooperation remains one of the key areas of development and strengthens mutual compatibility on the battlefield.”
