While most concepts remain in museums or showrooms, Audi has obtained a license to register the Concept Ca futuristic-looking concept car unveiled by the brand last month.
Unlike concepts developed by other manufacturers, which serve more as a showcase of the brand’s capabilities than as a vehicle that will actually make it to production, the Audi Concept C is much closer to a real car than just a concept.
The Concept C features a rear-mounted electric motor that allows it to reach around 145 km/h. It is worth noting that the production version, expected in 2027, will be considerably faster.

Still, this is an impressive top speed for what most people assumed would be just a static display piece at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich, Germany, last September.
Considering that the launch is still a few years away, Audi has not shared many technical details about the car, but Daniel Schustertechnical development spokesperson, told Engine1 that the Concept C is based on a newly developed architecture “that will be shared within the [Volkswagen] Group.”
As for the exterior, Massimo FrascellaAudi’s design director, has confirmed that the Concept C’s exterior design reflects “87%” of the final production look. For the first time for the brand, the electric retractable hardtop will be the only body style produced, as a fixed-roof coupe is not planned.
Inside, the cabin features a minimalist aesthetic, with a 10.4-inch retractable screen and a digital instrument cluster. Beyond the technology, all controls are physical and designed for intuitive use.

The car was announced by Audi in September as “the start of a new design philosophy and, therefore, a defining moment for the Four Rings,” suggesting that the concept serves as a guide for how future Audi models will look.
