American company uses robotic arm to launch and retrieve moving drones (LinkedIn – Target Arm Inc.)

American company Target Arm Inc. unveiled at AUSA 2025 an innovative robotic system for launching and retrieving moving drones.

The system, called Ralar Modular Mission Payload (MMP), represents a significant advance in drone operations in hazardous environments, allowing vehicles and aircraft to carry out these missions without stopping.

The system is integrated into GM Defense’s Infantry Squad Vehicle – Utility (ISV-U) and is emphasized for use in near-frontline tactical reconnaissance and attack missions. Ralar’s robotic arm can capture drones in flight, reducing soldier exposure and increasing operational maneuverability.

The accuracy of the system is ensured by Trimble Inc.’s positioning technology, which synchronizes the vehicle’s movements and the drone.

Ralar’s modular design makes it compatible with a variety of platforms and can be mounted on vehicles, robots, and aircraft without requiring structural changes to the drone. According to Target Arm, the device will also be capable of future integration with autonomous systems and AI-powered drone swarms, providing greater flexibility and safety in dynamic military missions.
