The video published this week will introduce the new factory in detail, which is responsible for the production of Altay’s main tanker series, one of the biggest projects in Turkey’s defense industry.

The complex is covered at 555,000 m², can be expanded by another 150,000 m² and includes the BMC Defense, which is responsible for the production of the tank, and the BMC Power, which is responsible for the development of the national BATU force group.
According to the official schedule, the first Altay-T1 shipments start in 2025 with 3 units and will reach a total of 85 tanks by 2028. The production of the Altay-T2 version starts from 2028 with the delivery of 165 vehicles.

Altay is the first new generation of main tanks developed in Turkey. It is designed in accordance with the requirements of modern struggle, combining excellent firepower, advanced armor and high mobility in various operational conditions.
In the T1 version, existing systems have been equipped with significant optimizations, while future T2 will include additional innovations and technological developments.
Currently, Turkish armed forces operate foreign models, such as Leopard 2A4, Leopard 1, M60TM, M60A3 and M48A5T2 manufactured in the United States and Germany. Of these, Leopard 2A4 and M60TM are considered state -of -the -art.
